HI-

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good self-tanner for face/neck?  One that is user friendly and adds color gradually?

My skin is fair with freckles & does not tan, but I would like to have a little bit of healthy-looking color (before putting on make-up) now that it’s summer.

Thanks!

Hi Celia,

I really like Christian Dior’s self tanners.  They come in several different versions.  Some with color and some without.  One with shimmer and one without.
I also really like Loreal’s gradual tan they just came out with.

Anyone else have some favorites?

Thanks Tricia!

Thanks for the recommendations--how do you find the time???!  I’ve been using the “subtle tanning” body lotions after showers because they’re virtually foolproof (it is so nice not to have to worry about orange between the fingers and the yucky smell!), and I really like the subtle color they give, but now my face has to catch up!

I think I’ll try the L’oreal first because it says it can be used as a daily moisturizer an has a 15 SPF.  I’ll do a post about how it works out after I’ve tried it.  I looked up the Dior Natural Glow self tanner and it looks and sounds very luxurious--I may ask for that for my birthday!

Tricia’s suggestions rock....my fave hands down....St. Tropez....what I have been told is that they use aloe vera and essential oils to cut the DHA (the tanning element) and so this prevents oxidation (turning orange) AND....and, you say...no creepy DHA smell (Similar to SUN self tanners which actually will use peanut oil which I am DEATHLY allergic to....THANK the higher powers I READ the ingredients before buying)!  I also like Clarins self tanning gel for the face....easy to apply and a really beautiful color (plus they use it apparently by reports on the cast of LOST and they always look great and tanned on that show....desert island, huh?).

Also, I like but you will pay a hefty price for Glow Fusion....it is a spray on self tanner that is clear but it actually has DHA AND a new type of self tanner ingredient called erythrulose (sp?) which prevents streaking because it also exfoliates at the same time....my clients at the major cosmetics retailer where I work (uh...I can’t remember...is this secret blown already?) have been VERY happy at the product (not so much the cost, but they happily spend).

On the fence about the spray on self tanner by Mystic Tan.....I think the actual service probably works better. Sprays on the whole I don’t prefer because you cannot really direct.

AND....I think that the Jergens gradual tans are fairly good as well!

Celia....let us know how it goes!
