I just bought the foundation and brush and I love it!! The foundation does seem too dry for under my eyes and wonder if anyone has any tips for me on how to handle this. I tried using more eye cream, but then my mascara comes off and I have raccoon eyes. I have many fine lines and have been using Perricone Ceramic Eye smoother, but not sure that really helps. I don’t have dark circles, but my under eye skin is pale and blueish with red under the lash line. Any tips??!!

Regina - I’m not expert but I hope this helps:

First, the Perricone Ceramic Eye Smoother is a treatment product that is designed to firm, tone and moisturize the under eye area.  Point in fact it’s almost like a primer as it retexturizes and plumps the skin with moisture presumably to push out any fine lines and wrinkles to make them appear less prominent. If this is NOT helping and using an emollient eye cream yields the raccoon eyes you note, I encourage you to try any number of the “wrinkle Fillers” on the market (take your pick: Smashbox with Dermaxyl, Dior, Dermadoctor Faux Fillament or Immobile Lines - my favorite, Cosmedicine Brush Applicator Filler) and THEN....and then, you say....try mixing the TSB foundation with a spot of eye cream (make sure there’s nothing fancy in the eye cream that will give it a weird texture...it should just be a straight moisturizing eye cream) and then applying it.

I cannot stress how pigmented and wonderful the TSB foundations are: they are very similar to the pro foundations I have in my kit that they use in film and television.  They cover with a thin layer and make the skin look flawless and wonderful.

Application is key here....from the sounds of it, you may just need to brush concealor over the darkish areas and then using a brush or your fingers blend the concealor UPWARDS towards the lash line....most would consider starting to conceal the red at the lash line and then blend downwards but this can accumulate too much product.  Always start with a small amount over the discoloration and use whatevers left and starting under the eye close to the lash line blend upwards.

Just brainstorming....considering using a flesh colored eye pencil or beige lip liner or even a pencil concealor over the red at the lash line....this will be precise and you won’t have to worry about being careful with applying a cream and what not.  LOVE LOVE LOVE the Shu Uemura cover crayon (I’m a dude and I use this over my dark circles as it is imperceptible if applied right) - the shades there will be perfect for pale skin: I suggest trying either 01/05 or the 9YR/5YR, the latter having a yellow value to color correct. Also Stila has a pretty flesh colored kohl pencil.

Second: if the primer and TSB foundations don’t do the trick: try EITHER a more moisturizing concealor under the eyes with your normal eye cream (Personally I LOVE Laura Mercier Secret CONCEALOR - NOT camoflauge which is dry and NOT for under the eyes; as well as Amazing Concealor; Liquids that can work for color correcting - Cargo One Base and Lancome Maquicompleat - the latter being a fave amongt the staff at my store) or even consider using a creamy liquid foundation under the eyes AS your concealor (like Shu Uemura Face Architect Cream or the Lancome Absolue Cream foundation).

Ugh...this is what happens when I try to write too much…

Other pencil concealors I LOVE....Shiseido, Benefit, Smashbox; other creamy concealors....Nars, Dior, Lorac, Benefit Erase Paste (almost IDENTICAL to Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealor), and the holy grail Cle De Peau Beaute (which will burn a hole so quickly in your wallet you’ll say “What the WHAT?")

Eye creams I love: Clinique all about eyes, Caudalie Eye contour cream, any of the Clarins, and my personal favorites (but VERY pricey): Nude Advanced Eye Complex and Shiseido Benefiance Eye.

As for the mascara: I test drove....yes, you read that right....test drove the Imju Fiberwig....this mascara withstood 14 hr workdays, humidity, air conditioning breakdowns, mid-day naps, and sweat and oil WITHOUT smudging! Now it has fibers and some people are allergic to those and they can irritate so be CAUTIOUS about this (if you’ve used lash primers and those double ended mascaras before with allergic reactions SKIP IT)....but FIBERWIG rocks! Otherwise I get less smudging with Max Factor 2000 Calorie (without the plastic brush) and any waterproof mascara (love DiorShow waterproof and Shu Uemura Ultimate Expression and/or Volume Precise waterproof).

Thank you so much for all your great tips - sorry it has taken so long to reply, but I’m still working my way through all your suggestions!! Went to a small Sephora store in Colorado a few weeks ago, and I sure could have used your help - there was a guy working there who didn’t have even a small amount of your knowledge. I tried the Imju Fiberwig Tiny Sniper and love the formula but the rubber stopper came out and is impossible to put back - kind of gave up on it for every day. Still trying some of your other suggestions - Thanks again!
