Skincare overload!

So I go through these obsessive phases of products.  Last year I was all about Hermes scarves.  Red lipstick.  Frye boots.  Now it’s all about skincare.

I buy philosophy, Wei East from HSN, Creme de la Mer, etc etc.  Which brings me back to an oldie but goodie-- and I think maybe even Tricia developed or had a part in this line.  Prescriptives Vibrant-C.  I remember reading about this in high school and how Sharon Stone bought like 17 at a time so as to never run out.  Anyhow, I used it in college when I still had young skin and loved how it felt and how luminescent it made my skin.

Well yesterday I ended up at Nordstrom and they’re having a beauty trunk show in a few weeks so now’s the time to buy products to get great freebies.  Well I tried the vibrant-c again and looked AMAZING.  Without any makeup or foundation.  Just mascara.  I truly think it’s more cosmetic than anything else but it makes your skin so radiant.  I’m thinking of using it again… but more as a makeup replacement or primer vs a true skincare.

Any other amazing skincare products you love?  (Another thing I’m obsessed with is argan oil, which seems to be the “IT” thing lately).

Suz...I am OBSESSED with the two following skincare spotlights and I very much second the Vibrant C (but also recommend the C products by Murad and especially the Truth Serum Collagen Booster with natural C by Ole Henriksen)....but my two current skincare obsessions:

1) Nude Skincare....I cannot say enough about this brand. Formulated without the scary and potentially irritating ingredients like parabens, sulphates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, propylene glycol, phthalates, GMO, mineral oil and silicones. I have the cleanser, the lip moisturizer and the Age Defense Moisturizer. Caution: I did have a few breakout when I layered the moisturizer with a sunscreen but not horrible. Now I just sunscreen up in the morning and use the Moisturizer at night only (which offsets its $100 price tag). I’m going to get the body cream and especially the Advance Eye Complex NEXT! My new favorite go-to skincare line! (link: http://www.nudeskincare.com/)

2) Murad’s Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for the Face and Eyes....WOW! Expensivity (is that even a word) aside, these two products are BRILLIANT! Fight the signs of genetic aging! Check out the link: http://www.murad.com/wrinkle-reducer-treatments/index.html. The face serum is designed to resurface without the irritation of say a retinol while hydrating and protecting the cells, and evening the skin tone. Great clinical results. As for the eye serum, it has glycolic acid to resurface fine lines and wrinkles and I swear after using twice a day for three days, I had to stare at my eyes in the mirror....they looked so rested and firm and fabulous!

Anyone else have a recommendations?

hey this is a late response to my post but i’ve got some updates!

i just discovered the MD Alpha Beta Peel Pads $80 and they are AMAZ-O.  I got a sample with purchase from beauty.com and loved it so much I bought the jumbo size for $128/120 pads.  They make your skin look so radiant and fresh but does not sting or burn like a medical grade chemical peel.  Well, at least that I know of as I have never had a chemical peel, only microderm and laser photofacials.

Also I picked up the Perlier Platinum Black rice serum/eye cream/spf 15 day cream set from HSN and love love love it.

I am a “natural” girl and try to steer clear of SLS, parabens, etc, but it’s pretty hard and I must say some of my favorite products have all of that stuff.  Oh what can you do.

Finally, as it is summer and I’m trying to PREVENT damage instead of spending millions of dollars REPAIRING damage, I have to say the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 Pa+++ for the face is my holy grain sunscreen.  It is a tad greasy but dries down matte with no white ghost face.  It is much better than a lot of the drugstore brands I’ve tried and I think the high percentage of zinc oxide as a physical blocker works better than the “chemical” sunscreens.

Keep em coming.  I have no end to the beauty products I try and recommend!

yeah...I’ve been away from the forum for sometime but thought I’d chime in....

If you are a big natural girl, definitely give NUDE a try....you will not be disappointed! Also consider the japanese skincare line Boscia which is the only preservative free skincare line.

As for the MD Alpha Beta Peel Pads....they are the ONLY peel pads I will put on my skin, plus the combination of AHA and BHA in it allows to refine and retexturize the skin as well as keep those poors clean and reduced in appearance.  I like the safety of the neutralizer pads as well!

I will have to check out the Perlier....as for the Shiseido, it utilizes zylitol which is in Perricone skin care and it restexturizes and smooths the skin.  Shiseido and Boscia are my two favorite Japanese skincare lines!

I was truly impressed with the selection available, however, there are others I would like to see there. The delivery was very good. The shipment arrived in the time they estimated. My experience with Internet purchases has been the estimated date plus 2 weeks.
